Innovation from the Start
ARISTON Psychometrics began as a pioneer in automated career guidance. Back in the late 1970s, we launched the first psychometric test that used computer technology to record and analyze answers—long before digital testing became the norm. Our system was powered by advanced artificial intelligence, drawing on the Kuder and later the Holland theories for career orientation. Over the years, ARISTON has evolved, integrating cutting-edge psychometric theory and expert systems, with support from the European Union and the Greek Ministry of Development.
Ariston Test remains the only Expert System worldwide for the analysis of Personality.
Ariston Test is already used in over 30 Countries world-wide with a database of over 1 Million cases.
Ariston Test is the only Psychometrics project that has collaborated directly with: John Holland, Benoit Mandelbrot, Edsger W. Dijkstra.
Ariston Test is the only Psychometrics Test that utilises the ESCO database of the E.U. with 3008 professions.
Ariston Test appeared on the E.U. ESCO official site for occupational guidance.
The software becomes fully EU – GDPR compliant (encryption, privacy-confidentiality, accessibility, updatability, etc.).
Standardised a Universal database for dynamic norming and correlations.
Standardised the Questionnaire on Learning difficulties – styles, Hemispheres, Self-Esteem, Aptitudes-Abilities (Pre-School & School levels).
Prof. E. J. Yannakoudakis extended the theory of Holland to incorporate 14 subtypes for each type.
The legendary researcher and theorist behind the Vocational Personality Types, John Lewis Holland (Nov. 2008†), and the founder of Ariston Test, Prof. E. J. Yannakoudakis, worked together on a new framework for occupational guidance.
Started collecting psychometric data from U.S.A., Africa, Russia and Asia.
The first version of Ariston as a Web-Based Counselling System. Received funding from the Greek Government and European Union program PRAXE.
First version of the Expert System using data from 25 European Countries.
Begun research on the Learning factors and Career guidance by collecting data on personality from 25 European countries (E.U. Programs: PETRA I & II, LEONARDO, YOUTHSTART, HORIZON).
Αriston launched as an interactive system for Occupational Guidance on CD. The first version of the Expert System was based on data from 15 European Countries and was presented at the 3rd National Conference on Counselling.
Implemented the first Truth – Lie detection algorithms.
Standardised the Occupational Guidance test using data from Greece.
Standardised the Occupational Guidance test using data from England.
Collected psychometric data, carrying out analyses and norm production for career and human resources management, England, U.K.
Ariston was the first Psychometrics Test in the world to be “Computerised” (back in the year 1974) using punched cards!
It began as a project on the Kuder preference Record C, punched cards, FORTRAN I, England U.K.
